New WordCamp App
Sirvelia, the makers of customized plugins for WordPress and WooCommerce, and the team behind Ploogins, a plugin directory for both free and premium plugins, have created a new WordCamp app, called WC & WP Events just in time for WordCamp Europe. The app draws from the list of official WordCamps, then populates the app with speakers and sessions, which you can add to a list within the app of those you would like to attend. It also pays homage to event sponsors by listing them as well.
The Future of WordPress Events
WordCamps are currently evolving into more specialized events focusing on particular topics or targeting specific audiences within the WordPress scene, such as developers or designers. This approach addresses various concerns, like declining attendance at some local meetups post-pandemic, the significant costs associated with large flagship WordCamps, and a desire for more targeted learning and networking opportunities.
