WordPress 6.9 Set to Be Second Major Release of 2025
WordPress Core, which was expected to have only one major release from now on, is undergoing a schedule change based on recent updates to the WordPress 6.9 development cycle. The WordPress 6.9 release post, which earlier indicated a 2026 timeline, now states that ‘WordPress 6.9 will be the final major release of 2025’. The possibility of releasing WordPress 6.9 this year was hinted at by Matt Mullenweg during the fireside chat at WordCamp Europe 2025.
Enqueue 2025: A New Conference for WordPress Developers Announced
Enqueue is a new one-day conference for WordPress professionals, set to take place in Sydney this November. It’s designed for developers, engineers, and digital teams who build and manage large-scale WordPress platforms. Set to take place on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Dr Chau Chak Wing Building at UTS, Enqueue is a joint effort by Web Directions, known for hosting leading web conferences in Australia, and The Code Company, a WordPress agency.
