“Hosted WordPress” and “Managed WordPress” Trademark Applications Rejected in the US – WordPress Foundation Files Request for Reconsideration
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has refused the WordPress Foundation’s applications to register the marks “Hosted WordPress” and “Managed WordPress” in the United States. In the Final Office Actions issued on August 22, 2025, the USPTO cited three issues: the need to disclaim the descriptive terms “Hosted” and “Managed,” clarification of the goods and services descriptions, and submission of an acceptable domicile address.
